We are an Australian Registered Charity specialising in supporting regional communities to thrive. Our focus is on REGENERATION EVERYTHING, choosing to start with our own backyard. A backyard that is currently going through one of Australia’s worst droughts and is in need of urgent long-term, preventative, sustainable solutions.

We are passionate about a long term positive outlook for farming families and their communities. This is about how, TOGETHER, we get out of this drought better than when we went in.

So can we help farmers, their families and their communities come out of this drought better than when they went in?

We ask the question: How can we use this emergency to galvanise action towards vastly improving the capacity for our growers to produce our food and fibre in a changing climate?

We believe massive and ongoing support for innovative methods of agriculture, thriving farming communities and forging strong connections with cities is what we need. Immediate relief is vital right now but equally important is a focus by all Australians to radically change how they value farmers’ contribution to our society and what they  produce for us in our regions. Australia’s food-chain must be moved powerfully into a healthy and protected future. For us that means farming communities are supported to thrive and not just survive as it gets hotter, drier and more challenging to produce the food we need.

With your help, all our efforts are focused on providing support through our ’Give A Fifty, Mate’ conversation. We don’t see this just as a campaign, a one off to seek funds for good works, but a crucial conversation that we all have to have. It’s a conversation that we can’t ignore anymore and one that needs to yield a nation-wide shift in how we support thriving food and fibre growers. And this is where joy comes in.

There is no doubt that years of low rainfall, failed gardens, no crops, and dying stock is grim but so is climbing out of post-drought debt and rebuilding what was lost. Mustering the courage to try again is what it’s all about. This becomes an impossible task without those who understand how important the joyful events, a broad network of supportive communities and new innovations to lower the risk are. A collective hope that we can find a way is what we need now.

Everybody knows you need something to look forward to.

STEP ONE: GROW WITH US

To unite and partner with many different organisations who are working towards REGENERATION and SUPPORTING RURAL COMMUNITIES TO THRIVE. Bringing our foodies (consumers) and our feeders (farmers) and rural communities together.

STEP TWO: DELIVER THE INFORMATION

The Great Drought Handbook is an unprecedented opportunity to get Regen Ag solutions DIRECTLY in front of every Farmer in Australia. A strategy that has never been utilised before now. We believe that the combination of the drought, farmers desperation to get out of the drought, the charitable and government support coupled with the best sustainable solutions, can combine to bring an unprecedented wave of change never before seen in our agriculture history. A change for the future. A change for the better.

144 pages direct to 86,000 farming families mailboxes. This is our first action step towards unifying Food Consumers (General Public) with Compassionate Support for our farmer (Charities) and a move towards sustainable, long-term preventative Farming Practices (Regenerative Agriculture). We believe that we can permanently prevent the implications of drought one farm at a time by improving Farmers knowledge and broadening their opportunities and options for drought proofing their properties.

STEP THREE: BIODIVERSITY

We engage with the community. Self sufficiency is the aim for future resilience. This is when we introduce the innovations that we have found really work for building community strength. Local solutions and local infrastructure we can share with everyone. Community gardens building local food security, music programs for our kids, bio-fuel production using local ingredients to reduce the fuel bill, Fodder-sheds that produce feed in the most water and environmentally efficient methods available, whatever the weather….., community OpShops for ongoing fundraising platforms, PenPal Projects, just some of the ideas already proving to be successful.

STEP FOUR: SEED MONEY

Launching a National Regen Ag Awareness Day on 14th Feb 2019. This awareness day is about Regenerative Agriculture being the new normal. The conversation on everyone’s lips and hearts. We want one million Aussies to support the Regenerative Ag Day. Every dollar we raise goes back to seeding projects, individuals and organisations that are focused in regenerating regional communities and soils across Australia. 100 Resturants involved, community gardens across australia and the brightest of our regional and city schools. Its going to be a movement for change like no-other.

Soil carbon is the key to our landscapes. Soil carbon holds water at 4 times its own weight in the soil. If we lift soil carbon from 1% to 2%, our soil will now hold four times as much water so when it does rain we can hold that water for future plant growth. It’s Easy to be Green, if you are in the black!
